Accompanied by a mysterious, nameless shadow, MZD is the creator of the pop'n world along with its sister worlds, as well as a DJ. Despite being a god, he's quite informal and easygoing, usually seen hanging out with Mimi and Nyami, who he asks for favors from time to time.
He is present during most of the party mode, guiding and helping the girls with various things. However, you can only play against him until the last area of the game, in which MZD and his song, uən by 少年ラジオ, will become playable.
Aside of that, he appears as a rival on remixes of other character's songs (this does not happen on portable 2 though).
